Hi,

First of all, what an amazing sim! I cannot believe there is one like this, reminds me of the first ever GP1 on Amiga.

Anyway, I had the original rfactor and could drive the BMW around the track pretty well, I have now got mmg 2007 but I cant seem to put any power down without spinning in every car! I got hold of some pre-done setups as I thought it may be that but hasnt made any difference. Even from the starting grid, I put down my accelerator and it just spins unless I am ridiculously slow off the start and around the corners! I have all the same settings and aids so cant understand why. Please can anyone shed any light?

On another note, I have always wanted a golf sim to be made in the same open source fashion, Links 2003 just cannot cut it anymore, even with its numerous add ons. Bit of a shot in the dark, but does anyone know of such a thing?

Thanks!

you might want to check on your traction control settings. if it is OFF and you floor down the accelerator, you will most definitely spin. try changing the settings and see which level you can better manage your driving. takes some practice to drive without the aids, e.g. traction control, steering, etc.

no idea on your second question though.

hope this helps biggrin.gif

Even though the BMW that comes with rFactor and the cars in MMG 2007 are technically very similar, they have been programmed completely differently and thus need to be approached in different ways. The best thing to do to start with is to check your gearing. If the gears are too short the car will be overly sensitive to the throttle. In other words, it'll rev faster and make the wheels spin more. You should also check your front and rear wing settings. If you find yourself spinning all the time, put more on your rear wing. This is the easiest way to get stability over the rear end.

Thanks so much for your answers, I have had a little play around with it and is already easier on the start. The car is now easier through the corners. I much prefer the mmg way of driving but just need to get in control of it a bit more! I will try the gear ratio as it makes a lot of sense already.

Cheers!

I have had a little play around with the settings and now it is AWESOME! I also brought the difficulty level down from 100% to 85% at the moment, I will probably see how it goes for a while. Thanks so much guys!
